Shrines and temples. Shrines are statues of something to pray to they can be found in people's homes, temples, and outdoors. When the Hindu people go to temples they must take their shoes off,wash their feet, ring bells when they enter the temple. During meditation they say "aum" which they believe is the first word.

It was brought to India 4,000 years ago in the Indus River Valley. It is practiced in places like India,Nepal,Sri Lanica,Malaysia, and is spreading to places like US,Canada,and the UK.

The Rigveda,Samaveda,Lajurveda,and Atharvaveda are all sacred writings. The sandskrit is one of the oldest known languages. Mohalharta is one of the longest poems ever written in the world.

In October or November they leave candles in windows to help Rama find his way to the home. Maddalas are used during meditation they are often circular with rich color and details.
